Crankenstein.

No, this is not a post about how to make a fantastic Halloween costume. Although I have some ideas for the upcoming holiday, my Halloween costumes generally come together in a manic state approximately 4 hours before I am due to participate in festive activities. And that's the way I like it.

No, this is a post about my general state of mind for today, and unfortunately many of the last few days. I have a few things making me cranky. The first is back pain, and the second is work. I suspect that they may be related. I have been working for the last five weeks at a temporary job. It doesn't pay very well, and I have to sit for ten hours each Monday through Thursday. While it is kind of nice having Fridays to myself, the schedule has wreaked havoc on me physically and mentally. I am not used to sitting for that long each day. I am more inclined to intermittent sitting and wandering about, so the chained-to-the-desk thing is severely cramping my style. And my erector spinae...
Also, my work environment kind of sucks. I know that I am a temp, which makes me the low person on the totem pole, but I don't feel the need is really there to belittle me and my temp-y friends. But, as cranky as I am, I don't want to be one of those people who bitch about work all of the time. So I'm stopping that now.

Going back to complaining about, well, my back. I have been experiencing back pain more than half my life. Sometimes it goes away for months, other times it lingers for just as long. Although I have tried to link it to specific activities, the causes are not very cut and dry. This time around, I've been in near-daily pain for a couple of months. It's a drag. I keep doing yoga and other activities and hope it works itself out, but really...

So here's what I'm going to do: scowl, seeth, and then get over myself. Take an ibuprofen.
